Jonas Hefendehl

Logistics

The execution of large-scale events brings sweat to many people’s brows: the stress, the responsibility, the myriad factors to consider. For Jonas Hefendehl, however, talking about his work gets him energized. Where others see stress, he sees opportunities. He thrives on the hustle and bustle of events. It all began as a side job, as Jonas initially intended to focus on general studies.

This path led him to MOYO, an external company specializing in hospitality personnel services. They were expanding their services from hospitality to logistics, and Jonas was tasked to lead this effort. It was a challenging role that he embraced eagerly. He excels at assessing people, managing scheduling, and contributes to building up the business unit. “As I worked on-site as logistics manager with my team and handled shift planning, I could tailor my approach to each team member’s strengths,” Jonas explains.

Through this role, he became acquainted with WECC and supported their logistics needs as an external service provider. The team at Westhafen recognized Jonas’ talent, and after six months, they offered him a job. It was a tough decision for Jonas, as his current employer also presented enticing career advancement opportunities. However, one evening after an event, as he looked back at the Westhafen building, the decision became clear. The unique location and character of the building captivated him. He decided to join WECC.

The dynamic work environment at WECC suits Jonas perfectly. Since 2022, he has been an integral part of the team. He oversees event execution, manages setup and teardown, and coordinates with the sales team. With such diverse responsibilities, he gains valuable experience across various aspects of event management. “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity,” Jonas remarks.

In the logistics field, being a generalist and maintaining an overview are crucial, especially in dealings with external partners. There are so many details to consider that communication and delegation skills are essential. “It can increase stress, but that’s what I enjoy,” Jonas reflects. His passion for the buzz of events is palpable. The entire team works tirelessly to ensure every event is a success. “There’s little that we can’t handle,” Jonas affirms.

As for his future plans? Initially, he had wanted to pursue studies. However, WECC offers him numerous opportunities for growth that Jonas has shifted his focus. “They recognize my willingness to take on responsibility,” he notes. Consequently, he continues to receive more responsibilities. Stagnation? Not on his horizon. It’s precisely the right fit for Jonas.
